Biography

Dr. Scott McKnight is a native Texan and Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Texas McGovern Medical School. He is board certified in both general and colon and rectal surgery.  He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Wake Forest University.  Dr. McKnight earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he became a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.  He completed general surgery residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).  He then practiced at UAB as a general and trauma surgeon before moving back to Houston to complete a colon and rectal surgery fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

Dr. McKnight practices in west Houston as a member of UT Physicians. His practices encompasses the full spectrum of colon and rectal surgery.  His particular clinical interests include minimally-invasive (laparoscopic and robotic) colon and rectal surgery, treatment of fecal incontinence, and anorectal surgery.  Dr. McKnight strives to make patients feel comfortable, address all patient concerns, and move to surgery when non-operative options have been exhausted.
