ASGE Appoints Thosani Chair of Standards of Practice Committee

Nirav C. Thosani, MD, MHA, has been appointed as the Chair of the Standards of Practice Committee for the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) for a term of three years. Dr. Thosani is a professor in the Department of Surgery, Division of Elective General Surgery, Interventional Gastroenterology, and holds the Atilla Ertan MD Endowed Chair in Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition.

The committee’s responsibilities include developing evidence-based guidelines for endoscopy in managing digestive diseases, establishing policies and recommendations for ASGE’s relations with other medical and governmental organizations, reviewing and revising ASGE Guidelines and Position Statements for endoscopy, exploring new strategies for disseminating guideline documents, and fostering communication with other ASGE Committees on mutual interests.
