Biography

Luke S. Crawford, MD, is a board-certified surgeon with formal fellowship training in minimally invasive gastrointestinal, endoscopic, and bariatric surgery. This training allows Dr. Crawford to provide more advanced options when considering the treatment of patients with gastrointestinal issues.

Dr. Crawford is passionate about patient-centered care and believes that shared decision-making between the patient and surgeon is essential. Whenever possible, Dr. Crawford provides a minimally invasive technique using endoscopic, robotic, and laparoscopic surgery to decrease surgical pain and recovery time so patients can get back home happier and healthier. He sees patients for a variety of medical conditions such as weight loss (gastric sleeve and gastric bypass), reflux/heartburn, hernias, gallbladder stones/pain, gastric ulcers, disorders of
the small intestine and appendix, and many other general surgery procedures.

Dr. Crawford is an assistant professor of surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. He earned his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He then completed his general surgery residency and advanced GI/MIS Bariatric Fellowship at McGovern Medical School.

He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
