Villafane-Ferriol Selected for JUMP Start Program
Nicole Villafane-Ferriol, MD, Assistant Professor in Surgical Oncology in the Department of Surgery, was selected for the prestigious Association for Academic Surgery (AAS) and Society of University Surgeons (SUS) co-sponsored program – Junior Underrepresented Mentorship and Promotion (JUMP) Start Program. This two-year program provides executive coaching, mentorship, and specialized training in leadership to assist with academic development and promotion.
Villafane-Ferriol was heavily recruited to UTHealth Houston in 2022. After graduating from her general surgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine, she completed a complex general surgical oncology fellowship at Fox Chase Cancer Center. She currently practices general surgery and surgical oncology, focusing on hepatobiliary surgery. Congratulations to Dr. Villafane-Ferriol!
