Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the treatment of locally advanced rectal cancer
  • Describe the treatment of early-stage rectal cancer
  • Identify the three most important clinical trials in rectal cancer in the past 5 years
  • Summarize the methods of determining complete response in rectal cancer
  • Explain why and when a patient with a complete response to total neoadjuvant therapy can undergo active surveillance
