Biography

Dr. John A. (Tony) Primomo is a native Texan. Born in San Antonio, Texas, he knew he wanted to complete his education in this great state and he decided to attend the University of Texas at Austin, where he graduated with B.A. in philosophy. After completing his B.A., he enrolled and attended medical school at UT Health Science Center in San Antonio. He completed his residency at the University of Rochester, New York, where he received numerous teaching awards. Dr. Primomo’s fellowship focused on minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. In addition to completing his fellowship in bariatric surgery, Dr. Primomo has acquired expert fellowship training in advanced laparoscopic surgeries to include treatment for reflux disease, as well as minimally invasive hernia surgery, and minimally invasive treatment of endocrine and hematologic disorders. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Primomo is married to his lovely wife Brooke.
