Biography

Dr. Pidala is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, McGovern Medical School. He received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati and his general surgery training at Akron City Hospital/Summa Health Systems. From there, he went on to receive fellowship training in colon & rectal surgery at UMDNJ/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey.  Dr. Pidala moved to Houston to join Colon and Rectal Clinic in 1998. He is currently a member UT Physicians Colon and Rectal Surgery and practices at the north Houston and The Woodlands locations. He is board certified in both general surgery, and colon and rectal surgery. Dr. Pidala has enjoyed his involvement in teaching within The University of Texas Colon & Rectal Surgery Residency Program.  He has authored several research articles and book chapters.  Dr. Pidala has a special interest in minimally invasive approaches to colon and rectal surgery and has extensive experience with laparoscopic and robotic procedures.
