- What behavioral health services are available to MHH-TMC Trauma patients?
- Inpatient Consult Liaison (CL) Psychiatry – Dr. Barr
- Outpatient Telehealth Psychotherapy – UTHealth Trauma and Resilience Center (TRC)
- What is an appropriate psychotherapy/TRC referral?
- Concerns about PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief – for the patient and/or family members
- What is NOT an appropriate referral (all of these should go to CL Psych)?
- Suicide/risk assessment
- Psychosis/delirium
- Medication needs
- How to refer to the TRC:
- Call 713-486-2630 and leave a message
- All messages are returned within 24 hours
- The patient, their family, or a care team member can make the initial call
- TRC Intake staff will return calls to schedule FREE initial evaluation
- Initial evaluation and subsequent sessions can take place during inpatient hospitalization via Zoom – coordinate with patient experience team to get iPad etc. if patient doesn’t have necessary equipment
- Once the initial evaluation is complete, treatment recommendations will be made as a team and the patient will be assigned a clinician or given appropriate referrals
