Welcome to the Department of Family & Community Medicine John P. and Kathrine G. McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center, Houston. We are pleased you have taken the time to learn more about us. We have exceptional faculty and staff committed to excellence in patient care, teaching, research and community service.

As you will find on our web pages, our faculty are involved in a wide range of activities including medical student education and family medicine residency training.

We offer multiple sites for full scope, comprehensive family care. Areas of faculty expertise include screening and prevention of disease and ambulatory procedures including: flexible sigmoidoscopy, exercise stress testing and exercise prescription, colposcopy and vasectomy. Our faculty and residents provide low- risk maternity care, care for newborns and children as well as adult medical care covering a wide spectrum of common diseases. Several of our faculty have special expertise in geriatrics and sports medicine.

Located in the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical center in the world, The University of Texas McGovern Medical School at Houston is an exciting place in which to work. Students, residents, and faculty have an opportunity to collaborate with biomedical researchers in all disciplines. They train with experts at the leading edge of technology and clinical care.
