Biography

Dr. Isabel Mira-Avendano, MD completed the school of Medicine at the Libre University in Cali, Colombia from where graduated with honors. She completed her first residence in Internal Medicine at the University of Antioquia in Medellin, Colombia and then came to USA where did a second training in Internal Medicine at University Hospitals of Cleveland and then did her Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at Cleveland Clinic. She started as a Junior-Attending at Mayo Clinic Florida when created the Interstitial Lung Disease Program.

Dr. Mira-Avendano has a passion for academic medicine and is nationally recognized by her expertise in Interstitial Lung Disease.

She joined UTHealth in 2020.
