Biography

Dr. Katie Guttenberg, MD, holds the position of Associate Professor of Medicine at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, where she directs the Endocrinology Fellowship Program.

Her clinical expertise centers on the care of patients with pituitary disorders, encompassing pituitary adenomas, hyperprolactinemia, Cushing’s disease, acromegaly, and hypopituitarism.

Dr. Guttenberg earned her medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She furthered her medical training with residencies and fellowships in endocrinology and medical education, all completed at the University of Pennsylvania.

In recognition of her outstanding contributions to medical education, Dr. Guttenberg was inducted into the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston Academy of Master Educators in 2020. Her commitment to resident education was further underscored when she was honored with the prestigious Smythe Award for Excellence.

On a national level, Dr. Guttenberg actively participates in committees for the Association of Program Directors in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism (APDEM) and the Endocrine Society, where she plays a vital role in the Trainee and Career Development Core Committee.
