Dr. Subash grew up in Plano, Texas. She received her undergraduate degree from Stanford University and obtained her medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in 2014. During medical school, she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and was the sole recipient of the Gold Headed Cane Award, an honor bestowed upon a graduating physician who symbolizes the pursuit of the highest standards of scientific excellence and integrity. She traveled back to California to complete her internship and residency at UCSD in 2018 followed by a Chief Residency in Quality and Safety at the VA San Diego Healthcare System. Dr. Subash continued on to UCSF to complete both her Rheumatology and Clinical Informatics Fellowships in 2021. She is Epic Physician Builder Certified and completed her LEAN Six Sigma Green Belt Certification in 2020. Her areas of interest include implementing and evaluating health IT and tools in the EHR to improve patient care in rheumatology and ambulatory care. She joined the rheumatology faculty at UTHealth in 2021 and serves in a joint appointment with the UTHealth School of Biomedical Informatics. Dr. Subash serves as the Divisional Quality Officer for the Division of Rheumatology and provides general rheumatology and lupus care at the UT Professional Building and Memorial Hermann Hospital.
