Dr. Min Ji Kwak is an Assistant Professor of the Division of Geriatric and Palliative Medicine at McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. She obtained her medical degree from Ewha Woman’s University School of Medicine and finished a residency training in Emergency Medicine at Seoul National University Hospital, a fellowship in Oncologic Emergency Medicine at MD Anderson Cancer Center, a residency training in Internal Medicine at McGovern Medical School, and a fellowship in geriatric medicine at McGovern Medical School. She also obtained a Master’s in Science in Medicine and Biomedical Engineering Joint Program, and a Doctor of Public Health in Health Services Organization. She sees patients at the Memorial Hermann Hospital Acute Care for Elderly Unit and geriatric consultation patients.
Dr. Kwak’s research encompasses a broad and dynamic range within geriatric medicine, with a particular focus on advancing care for older adults with cardiovascular diseases. Her work integrates health services research in geriatric cardiology to identify optimal care strategies, leverages artificial intelligence and machine learning to enhance clinical research, and champions patient-centered care models such as the Age-Friendly Health System and Patient Priorities Care. Through her innovative and interdisciplinary approach, Dr. Kwak is committed to improving both outcomes and experiences for older adult patients.
