Dr. Krishna Suthar received her medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in the Community Medicine track in 2017. She then went on to complete her Internal Medicine residency and Chief Residency at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, in 2020. She completed her fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at Baylor Scott and White in Temple, Texas, where she graduated in 2024 and served as Chief Fellow.
Dr. Suthar’s clinical passion includes a comprehensive approach to treating hematologic and oncologic diseases. She also has interests in leadership and education. In medical school, Dr. Suthar was selected as a member of the Golden Humanism Honor Society and was awarded both the Diane Heaton Award for Professionalism and the Podalarian Award (selected by her peers for outstanding leadership & service to the College of Medicine). During residency, she was selected as Intern of the Year and given the Thomas N. & Gleaves James Award for excellent performance by a third-year resident in Internal Medicine.
She is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and provides comprehensive care to patients in classical hematology, malignant hematology, and oncology.
Dr. Suthar was drawn to Hematology & Oncology due to the personalized nature of patient care in the field and the opportunity to form longitudinal relationships with patients and their families with an emphasis on education and outreach. She values being able to sit down with patients and walk them through their diagnosis and treatment while incorporating their individual preferences and values.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exploring new restaurants, listening to podcasts and audiobooks, and going to Orangetheory!
