Dr. Anish Patnaik completed his master’s in public health and medical degree at the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston in 2020, where he won the Walter G. Sterling Award for clinical excellence in a class of 240 students. His MPH was focused on community health practices where he implemented a nutrition class for children at risk for obesity in a refugee population in Houston, TX. He went on to complete his residency program in internal medicine/pediatrics at the McGovern Medical School in 2024 where he was a chief resident. Dr. Patnaik enjoys taking a comprehensive clinical approach to his patients, addressing not just the immediate diagnosis, but also potential social and risk factors that could affect future health concerns. He enjoys maintaining a wide set of skills to address any opportunities for improvement in his community. His areas of research interest include medical education, global health, and social determinants of health. He enjoys playing the guitar, hiking, running, and hanging out with his family in his free time.
