  • Apply the latest evidence with patients and practice evidence-based medicine.

  • Discuss the latest clinical practice guidelines relevant to clinical practice.

Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify historical milestones in the use of psychedelics — including ancient ritual practices, the mid-20th century countercultural movement, and the resurgence of interest in medicine.
  • Explain the pharmacologic mechanisms of psychedelics, focusing on their interactions with the serotonergic system and implications for mood regulation and depression.
  • Evaluate the current clinical evidence surrounding the use of psychedelics in the treatment of depression and related psychiatric conditions.
