  • Apply the latest evidence with patients and practice evidence-based medicine.
  • Discuss current research and its potential for application to patient care.
  • Discuss the latest clinical practice guidelines relevant to clinical practice.

Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify limits of current diagnostic approaches to atherosclerosis and new approaches to treatment of coronary artery disease and stroke.
  • Apply knowledge of nitric oxide to better evaluate and treat cardiovascular disease.
  • Identify limitations in evaluating aortic stenosis and the efforts to better define and treat this.
  • Describe molecular mechanics regulating cardiac metabolism to tailor interventions for treatment and prevention.
  • Describe what the Clinical Center of Translational Science is and how it can help.
