Biography

Dr. Beck is a Gerontological Nurse Practitioner.   After graduating from Duke University her focus was pre and post cardiothoracic care and intensive care. After moving to Texas, she became an ICU head nurse. In 1992, she earned a Master of Science in Nursing as a Gerontological Nurse Practitioner and provided primary care in a geriatric assessment center and house call program at Memorial Southwest. She assisted in the training of family practice residents and nurse practitioner students. She participated in the White Conference on Aging appointed by the Governor of Texas in 1995.  In 2009, she joined the Division of Geriatric and Palliative Medicine.  She assisted in the planning and opening of the Center for Healthy Aging. Today she provides primary care at the Center and through the House Call Program.
