Eboni A. Reed, MD
Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellow
Where are you coming to us from?
Houston, Texas! I am transitioning from my faculty position within the UT PM&R department where I focus on brain injury rehabilitation.
What are you most excited about this year?
I am looking forward to the variety of experiences; in every part of the curriculum, I can see the opportunity to blend my rehab background with palliative care.
Why did you choose Palliative Medicine as a subspecialty?
My work in brain injury rehab made me realize there was a missing piece in how I wanted to care for patients with serious neurologic illness. I chose palliative care to gain deeper expertise in symptom management and goal-centered care, while ultimately hoping to combine that with my rehab background into a career in neuro-palliative care.
What is the most fun thing you want people to know about you?
When not working in medicine, I am a home chef! I have over 40 cookbooks and spend my free time creating delicious concoctions.
