The Division of Hematology is committed to excellent patient care, high-quality education, and research. We aim to provide expert care in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with a wide variety of blood disorders, including malignant and nonmalignant (classical) cases.

Our services include the evaluation and treatment of anemias, polycythemia, thrombocytopenia, thrombocytosis, leukopenia, leukocytosis, sickle cell disease, thalassemia, hemophilia, thrombophilia, as well as premalignant and malignant hematologic disorders, including myelodysplasia, leukemia, and plasma cell dyscrasias.

UTHealth Hematologists provide high-level patient care in the ambulatory clinics at UT Physicians Comprehensive Adult Sickle Cell Center, Gulf States Hemophilia and Thrombophilia Center, and LBJ Outpatient Center. They also provide inpatient care at Memorial Herman Hospital-TMC and LBJ Hospital.

Our faculty members are active in graduate education. Moreover, we offer electives to 3rd and 4th-year medical students in Adult Hematology, and we participate in the Internal Medicine Residency Program.
