Inpatient Consultative Services
The Infectious Diseases groups at UT Health’s McGovern Medical School and UT MDA Cancer Center have very active inpatient consultative services, with well-balanced exposure to different infectious diseases problems at three major locations:
Memorial Hermann Hospital-Texas Medical Center:
A full-service private hospital specializing in trauma care with active Cardiovascular and Neurosurgery services. With more than 1,000 bed capacity, the hospital provides multiple ICUs, burn units, and solid organ transplant units to the Houston metropolitan area. It also serves as a tertiary flagship referral center for over 10 outlying regional Memorial Hermann hospitals.

Outpatient Consultative Services:
The Division of Infectious Diseases sees outpatients with the full range of infectious diseases, including HIV, osteomyelitis, transplant ID, orthopedic and other surgical complications, CNS infections and travel diseases. The Division also staffs a full-service travel medicine clinic that prepares clients to travel safely to exotic locations. Services include medications to prevent malaria and treat travelers’ diarrhea and all the necessary immunizations for travel.
