Each year, UTHealth Neurosciences hosts a variety of events for medical professionals, past patients and others interested in learning more about neurological health issues. These educational events bring together experts in the areas of neurosurgery, neurology, neuro-oncology, neuro-critical care, neurotrauma and nursing to present and discuss current topics in the field. From our annual Yatsu Day Symposium and Neuro ICU Symposium to our online webinars and in-person support groups, UTHealth Medical School partners are helping educate patients and medical professionals, promoting continued innovation in neuroscience care.

Eighth Annual Neuro ICU Symposium

This year, the Eighth Annual Neuro ICU Symposium will be hosted at the InterContinental Hotel in the Texas Medical Center. The course will be 2.5 days of intentional programming, designed to help surgeons, physicians, nurses, PAs, and RTs stay attuned to the most innovative practices in neuro critical care.

Epilepsy Care at the Cutting Edge

Dr. Tandon & Dr. Lhatoo are hosting a comprehensive, two day continuing education course covering the latest advances in epilepsy care. The content is ideal for neurologists, neurosurgeons and epilepsy specialists as well as their nurses and PAs. This is the first time the Texas Comprehensive Epilepsy Program has hosted an event of this nature – you won’t want to miss it! Check back soon for updates.

Pediatric Neuroscience Symposium

Dr. David Sandberg has organized a holistic, one day course that provides updates on a range of neurologic conditions in pediatric patients ranging from spasticity to epilepsy to brain tumors. The series of lectures will be led by several of our own UTHealth Neuroscience pediatric physicians, including Dr. Manish Shah, Dr. Stephen Fletcher and Dr. Gretchen Von Allmen. Houston Neuroendovascular Surgery Club

The Houston Neuroendovascular Surgery Club (HNESC) hosts multidisciplinary meetings jointly provided by UTHealth Neurosciences. The HNESC meetings gather local experts in Neuroendovascular Surgery, from various specialties including Neurosurgery, Neurology and Radiology, in an open forum for the presentation, discussion, and analysis of interesting neurovascular and interventional cases. HNESC meetings are case-driven. We expect to receive case submissions of which the most interesting will be selected for oral presentation.
