October is Accreta Awareness Month with a focus on placenta accreta. Margarita Saavedra was referred to UT Physicians maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) specialist Ramesh Papanna, MD, MPH, for an advanced ultrasound after the technician noticed a brain disorder in the baby during a previous routine ultrasound. UT Physicians is the clinical practice of McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth).
