Biography

Farah H. Amro, MD, is a double board-certified, fellowship-trained specialist in maternal-fetal medicine. She serves as the Medical Director of the Placenta Accreta Program at UTHealth Houston and UT Physicians, where she leads a multidisciplinary team in the comprehensive clinical management of patients with this complex and high-risk diagnosis. In addition to her clinical leadership, Dr. Amro also spearheads research initiatives aimed at advancing the understanding and treatment of placenta accreta spectrum disorders.

She holds the academic title of Assistant Professor of Maternal-Fetal Medicine in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, and serves as the Associate Program Director of the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship Program.

Dr. Amro earned her medical degree from the American University of Beirut in 2013 and completed both her residency in obstetrics and gynecology and fellowship training in maternal-fetal medicine at McGovern Medical School.

Her clinical excellence and dedication to patient care have been recognized through her induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She is also a recipient of the Hypertension Innovator Award from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office on Women’s Health (OWH), acknowledging her contributions to improving outcomes for women with hypertensive disorders in pregnancy.
