Biography

Georgina F. Amaral, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained OB-GYN specialist who treats children, teens, and adults. She has dedicated her career to partnering with girls and their families as they transition from adolescence to adulthood. She specializes in addressing complex medical issues and common gynecological concerns that may be overlooked or challenging for girls and young women. A subspecialty-trained surgeon, Dr. Amaral manages such issues as abnormal periods, hormone regulation, adolescent contraception for those with underlying medical conditions, pelvic masses, differences in sex development, and complex uterovaginal anatomy.

Dr. Amaral is an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston as well as an adjunct assistant professor in the department of pediatrics. She’s a Diplomat of The American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG).
