The Gilstrap Center Summer Program
The Gilstrap Summer Program will allow you to be immersed in the field of OBGYN. Each week you will rotate through each OBGYN service line, and experience a front line account of what it means to work in the field.
Applicant requirements:
Rising High School Senior (going into your senior year of high school; just completed junior year)

- High School students (3-4 weeks)
Undergraduate- currently registered in an accredited university or college in good standing and at least 1 year remaining to graduate.

- College undergraduates (6-8 weeks)
- Locations
- You will spend one week shadowing our team in each of the following OBGYN services:
- Labor & Delivery
- Includes night call in Labor & Delivery
- UTHealth Houston Fetal Center
- Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS)
- Gynecologic Oncology (GynOnc)
- Clinical Research
- UT Physicians Women’s Centers
- Women’s Services include:
- UT Physicians Obstetrics & Gynecology Continuity Clinic
- Labor & Delivery
- Gain valuable exposure to our faculty, clinicians, and research teams
- Housing accommodations are not provided by the the Gilstrap Summer program and securing housing is the responsibility of the participants
