Thread Lift in Houston, TX

The thread lift is a minimally invasive in office procedure where temporary sutures are used to produce a subtle lift in the midface. Unlike a facelift, where skin is incised and a large incision is made, a tiny entry site is made and the suture thread is advanced under the skin to suspend, lift and tighten the cheeks and jowls. The procedure is quick and takes about 30-45 minutes in clinic. Although the threads are dissolvable sutures and tend to dissolve by about 6 months, they have the added benefit of triggering collagen production in the face. Collagen keeps our skin looking healthy and fresh and supports our skin and extends the results of the thread beyond 1 year, long after the sutures have absorbed.

One of the major benefits of a thread lift is that is minimally invasive and results are noticeable right after the procedure. For patients who have early signs of aging and want a lift without surgery, general anesthesia or an extended recovery time, the thread lift is a great option to explore.

Treatment Areas

The face and neck are the most often treated areas. Patients are often most bothered by early jowling and early neck sagging. Some patients also desire a brow lift or a cat eye look. For these patients, lifting the brow is also a commonly done procedure.

Surgery/Treatment Process

The process takes 30-45 minutes in the office. When you arrive, the areas of the face that are to be lifted are marked out and numbing medication is injected. Once the face is numb, a small needle stick is used to create a tiny entry site for the threads to be inserted. After insertion of the threads, the face/neck/brow is lifted. There are no incisions that need to be closed.

Am I a Candidate?

The best candidates for thread lift are patients who have early signs of aging. For patients with more advanced aging, a facelift and neck lift are better options. We recommend coming in for a consultation so that we can tailor a treatment plan to your face.

Recovery Process/Downtime

The recovery time from a thread lift is relatively quick. While patients may notice swelling for a few weeks, they are often able to return to normal activities within a few days.

How Long do Results Last?

The threads are resorbable and after several months, the threads themselves will dissolve, however the results of a thread lift are maintained for 1-2 years due to collagen remodeling.

Cost

Cost will vary by the number of areas treated and the desired areas treated. We recommend an in person consultation to evaluate the face to determine if you are a candidate and what treatment areas are recommended.

Risk/Side Effects

Just like any cosmetic procedure, there can be risks associated with thread lift. These risks include bleeding, bruising, post procedure infection and in rare cases, facial drooping from injury to the underlying facial nerve.
