Broadband Light

Broadband Light

Broadband Light™ therapy delivers high intensity light to the skin to improve the appearance of pigmented and vascular lesions. Intense pulsed light is not a laser. A Sciton laser delivers a single wavelength treatment whereas BBL delivers a broad range of wavelengths which allows it to target various conditions. During the treatment, there will be a flash of light that feels like the snap an elastic band, there will be some redness and warming of the skin which will subside within an hour. In the days following BBL treatment, you will notice darkening of the treated spots with subsequent flaking of the pigment from the spot. Some patients may notice improvement after just 1 treatment but typically a series of treatments will yield the best result. BBL is a great minimally invasive treatment with less downtime than laser resurfacing and can be a great option for patients who want to even out their complexion and rejuvenate the skin.
