Biography

Avni N. Shah, MD, is an associate professor of pediatric endocrinology at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston with an extensive clinical practice at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital (CMHH). She graduated from Texas A&M College of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency and pediatric endocrinology fellowship at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.

Dr. Shah has a strong clinical interest in Type 1 Diabetes and technology and has a dedicated clinic to help transition patients from pediatric to adult endocrinology. Her research interests include diabetes as well as neonatal endocrine disorders. She also serves as a core faculty member for the pediatric endocrinology fellowship program.
