Biography

Ebony Beaudoin, MD, FAAP, is an associate professor of pediatrics at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, where she serves in the Division of Community & General Pediatrics. A board-certified pediatrician with decades of clinical, academic, and community service experience, Dr. Beaudoin is widely recognized for her dedication to child health, medical education, and health equity.

Dr. Beaudoin earned her B.S. in Biology from Clark Atlanta University and her M.D. from Meharry Medical College. She completed her pediatric residency at The University of Texas-Houston Medical School (now known as McGovern Medical School), where she has remained a vital part of the faculty since 2005. Her clinical appointments include long-standing roles at Memorial Hermann Children’s Hospital, Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital, and TIRR Memorial Hermann, among others. She also serves as medical director of the LBJ Well Baby Nursery and assistant pediatric medical director at Accent Care Hospice.

A passionate educator, Dr. Beaudoin has mentored countless medical students, residents, and fellows and has developed curricula on complex pediatric care, ethics, and chronic conditions. She is a frequent lecturer and contributor to pediatric education at both UTHealth Houston and Baylor College of Medicine. Her research interests include improving access to individual education plans and maternal immunization for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) prevention. She has authored numerous case reports, journal articles, and textbook chapters, and has been an invited speaker at national and regional conferences.

Dr. Beaudoin’s commitment to service extends beyond the clinic. She has led numerous community initiatives, including annual baby showers for women in shelters, vaccination drives, and mentorship programs. She serves on multiple boards, including Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and the National Organization of Rare Diseases, and is the Board Chair of And I Stand, a nonprofit focused on mental health and domestic violence prevention.

Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the AAMC Minority Faculty Development Award, the Excellence in Professionalism and Humanism Award, and multiple Dean’s Teaching Excellence Awards.
