Biography

Gabriel Anzueto, MD, is an assistant professor and the Raghuthaman Family Professor in Pediatric Neurology and Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at UTHealth Houston. He serves as division chief of the Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics Division within the Department of Pediatrics at McGovern Medical School and as medical director of the Dan L Duncan Children’s Neurodevelopmental Clinic at the Children’s Learning Institute. As a specialist in developmental and behavioral pediatrics with UT Physicians, Dr. Anzueto provides comprehensive evaluations and personalized treatment plans for children with neurodevelopmental concerns, supporting each patient’s unique needs.

Dr. Anzueto believes in family-centered care that focuses on helping each child reach their full potential biologically, socially, and psychologically. Utilizing his native language, Spanish, he helps patients and their families form a deeper understanding of their care. He serves a large volume of patients to ensure the community’s demands are met.

Following his academic career, he was an instructor of pediatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and an attending physician at Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago from 2020 to 2022.

In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf and volunteering as a Boy Scout leader.

Clinical Interests

His clinical areas of interest include autism, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, anxiety, Down syndrome, Fragile X, Rett syndrome, global developmental delay, speech and communication disorders, the use of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), and health disparities in the Spanish-speaking population.
