On Friday, April 19th, at the 2024 Lawrence Family Bone Disease Program of Texas Annual Scientific Retreat, Xiaolei (Sherry) Zhao, PhD was named as one of the three top prize winners. The top prize winners received a $45,000 award to further the research they presented at the retreat. Sherry, a postdoctoral research fellow for Jun Wang, PhD, presented her research titled “A Signaling Crosstalk Regulation in Neural Crest-Derived Cranial Suture Mesenchymal Cells.”
The Lawrence Family Bone Disease Program of Texas is a joint collaborative research, clinical, and educational program between Baylor College of Medicine, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, and UTHealth Houston. Its mission is to transform bone health by leading in multidisciplinary and collaborative research, treatment, and training.
