She is ABPN Board certified in neurology with special qualifications in child neurology and epilepsy, and she specializes in the treatment of drug-resistant epilepsy in children and infants as well as epilepsy surgery. Her clinical research interests include the genetics of epilepsy, brain malformations, and the use of magnetoencephalography and electroencephalography to understand epileptic networks and response to treatment.

Dr. Von Allmen’s focus of interest is in clinical and academic leadership, and sustainable growth and development of excellence in academic medical institutions. Her immediate goal is to expand the Division of Child Neurology, while working collaboratively with other divisions in the Department of Pediatrics, to form a comprehensive and cohesive group that can better serve the clinical and research-related needs of all children with neurological conditions.
