Biography

Haitham Al-Wahab, MD, FAAP, is an assistant professor of pediatric critical care medicine at UTHealth Houston. Dr. Al-Wahab specializes in pediatric critical care and point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS). He brings a strong background in cardiac critical care, mechanical ventilation, and vascular access to his work as a clinician, educator, and researcher.

Dr. Al-Wahab completed his fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine at UTHealth Houston and his residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso. Prior to his current role, he served as an instructor in pediatric cardiac critical care at Baylor College of Medicine.

Deeply committed to improving outcomes and quality of life for critically ill children and their families, Dr. Al-Wahab is passionate about advancing the skills and knowledge of pediatric critical care providers. He values collaboration, innovation, and excellence, and is dedicated to contributing to the mission and vision of UTHealth Houston and the broader pediatric critical care community.
