Neethu M. Menon, MD, is an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics with expertise in the field of hematology. She is actively involved in clinical care, education, and research in the fields of pediatric bleeding disorders, thromboembolism, vascular anomalies, sickle cell disease, and other types of anemia.
Dr. Menon is founder and director of the multidisciplinary Young Women’s Bleeding Disorders Clinic and serves on the clinical subcommittee of the Foundation for Women and Girls with Blood Disorders. As the hematology representative of the UTHealth Houston Vascular Anomalies clinic, she coordinates the medical management of patients with vascular anomalies. Dr. Menon has conducted clinical research related to anemia and bleeding disorders in menstruating adolescents, hemophilia, thrombosis, sickle cell disease, and vascular anomalies.
As a strong advocate for medical education, Dr. Menon precepts medical students and coordinates problem-based learning sessions for residents and fellows in addition to lectures and bedside teaching. She received the Dean’s Teaching Excellence Award in 2019, 2021-2024.
