Ramia G. Zakhour, MD, is a pediatric infectious diseases physician with specialized expertise in the prevention and treatment of infections in immunocompromised children.
Dr. Zakhour completed her pediatric infectious disease fellowship at UTHealth Houston and then went on to complete a fellowship at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, where she focused on managing complex infectious diseases in pediatric patients undergoing solid organ and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, as well as those with other immunodeficiencies and cancer. Her clinical and research interests center on improving outcomes for different immunocompromised pediatric populations, including transplant recipients, children with primary immunodeficiencies, and children receiving biologics and other immunosuppressive therapies, with an emphasis on evidence-based, individualized patient care.
