Biography

Dalilah Reyes De Jesus, MD, FAAP, is an assistant professor of pediatrics at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. A dedicated physician and educator, Dr. Reyes De Jesus earned her Doctor of Medicine from San Juan Bautista School of Medicine in Puerto Rico in 2020, following a Bachelor of Science from the University of Puerto Rico at Humacao in 2016. She completed her pediatrics residency at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Campus in 2023 and is licensed to practice in Texas.

Dr. Reyes De Jesus is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and has been widely recognized for her excellence in clinical care, leadership, and service. Her accolades include the Excellence in Public Health Award from the U.S. Public Health Service, the Arnold P. Gold Foundation’s Gold Humanism Honor Society induction, and multiple residency awards such as Intern of the Year and Pediatric Emergency Resident of the Year.

Her commitment to community health is evident through her leadership in disaster-relief missions in Puerto Rico, the Abaco Islands, Guatemala, and Honduras, as well as her work in public education through the Puerto Rican Pediatrics Society and Univision Houston.

Dr. Reyes De Jesus is deeply committed to advancing medical education through innovative teaching, mentorship, and academic leadership. A graduate of the UTHealth Houston Health Educators Fellowship Program, Dr. Reyes De Jesus has cultivated expertise in curriculum development and learner-centered education. Her dedication to excellence in teaching has been recognized by McGovern Medical School with a nomination for the Dean’s Teaching Excellence Award — an honor that reflects Dr. Reyes De Jesus’ impactful contributions to the academic community and unwavering passion for shaping the future of health care education.
