New Program Director for the Combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Residency Program

Ariana Klein, MDDr. Ariana Klein has taken over as Program Director for the Combined Internal Medicine & Pediatrics Residency Program, effective September 16, 2024. ​

Dr. Klein completed her UME and GME training at UTHealth Houston McGovern Medical School and brings exceptional leadership, clinical expertise, and a deep commitment to education, as evidenced by multiple education awards. We look forward to her vision for the continued growth and success of the combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Residency program. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Farnie for his incredible leadership and dedication over the years. As the only Program Director for the combined Internal Medicine & Pediatrics Residency (initial ACGME accreditation July 2006), his tireless efforts have shaped the program into what it is today. His legacy of excellence will continue to guide us as we move forward. Dr. Farnie will remain in Program Leadership in the roles of Associate Program Director for the combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Residency, Core Faculty for the Internal Medicine Residency Program, and Clerkship Director of the MS III General Internal Medicine Clerkship.
