Congratulations to Ashley Gibson, MD, Assistant Professor, Child Safety and Integrated Care Division, for receiving an AIM-AHEAD Grant, issued by the Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) Consortium to Advance Health Equity and Researcher Diversity (AIM-AHEAD). The goal of the AIM-AHEAD program is to support multidisciplinary teams in the domains of biomedical research and clinical applications to develop and/or use AI/ML technologies that align with and/or extend the AIM-AHEAD ethics and equity principles.
Dr. Gibson will be one of the principal investigators of a collaborative project titled: Ethical Implications and AI-Driven Solutions for Reducing No-Show Rates in Pediatric Outpatient Care. The research team will include professionals from schools across UTHealth Houston as well as Rice University.

The purpose of the Educational Innovations Program is to promote educational scholarship in the McGovern Medical School Department of Pediatrics and to advance novel approaches in the training of the pediatric workforce. McGovern Medical School faculty with a primary appointment in the Department of Pediatrics at the instructor, assistant or associate professor level are eligible to apply for these awards.
