From podcasts to livestream interviews to online magazines and more, the Department of Pediatrics is frequently asked to share expertise with a wide variety of media outlets. Here are some highlights from the past month or so:
- Zoabe Hafeez, MD, Associate Professor, Pediatric Hospital Medicine, was a guest co-host of the radio show Growing Up in America: The Way It Is, which airs on 90.1 FM. The episode was entitled The Built Environment.
- Sandy McKay, MD, Associate Professor and Director, Community & General Pediatrics, was a guest on Growing Up in America: The Way It Is, episode entitled Preventing Firearm Injuries.
- Melissa Kwan, MD, Assistant Professor and Director of Community Pediatric Hospital Medicine, joined FOX 26 News to talk about toy safety as parents shop for the holidays.
- Mahboobeh Mahdavinia, MD, PhD, Professor and Director, Allergy & Immunology Division, appeared on FOX 26 News to talk about a needleless alternative, called Neffy, to the EpiPen for an allergic emergency.
- Melissa Adeyemo, MD, Assistant Professor, Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, and Ricardo Mosquera, MD, MPH, Professor and Director, Pulmonary & Sleep Division, were featured on the UTHealth Houston Instagram touring the Alley Theatre to promote A Christmas Carol, for which UTHealth Houston was a presenting sponsor.
The physicians saw all aspects of the production process, including the set workshop, stage, costumes, and more.
