UTHealth Houston is gearing up for heart-focused initiatives and community-building activities throughout February to celebrate American Heart Month, a national initiative to raise awareness about heart health. The university is organizing a series of events aimed at fostering a sense of connection, promoting heart health, and supporting various community causes.
Friday, February 7, show your support for heart health by wearing red clothing and accessories in honor of National Wear Red Day and consider joining a UT System Health Walk near you!

The HCHD Foundation TexasMedRun is a 10K, 5K Run/Walk and Kids 1K Run for the whole family! Together, we can make a positive impact in the lives of those served by the Harris Health System.
This year we’d like to have some visibility with a team for the Department of Pediatrics! When you register, select “Team PEDI FIT” and enter @McGovernPeds for the password.
Proceeds from the HCHD Foundation 22nd Annual TexasMedRun will benefit Harris Health’s Heart Health Initiative. The Heart Health Initiative aims to improve heart health outcomes by providing comprehensive support to vulnerable populations, offering essential clinical support, and ongoing education.
