Biography

Alice L. Taylor, MD, is an assistant professor of pediatrics at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. With a distinguished career spanning more than two decades, Dr. Taylor brings extensive expertise in neonatal and pediatric care, particularly in special-care nursery and hospitalist medicine.

Dr. Taylor earned her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Purdue University and her Doctor of Medicine from Indiana University School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at the University of Rochester School of Medicine, where she later held multiple academic appointments, including associate professor of pediatrics.

From 2000 to 2023, Dr. Taylor served in various clinical roles at Highland Hospital and Golisano Children’s Hospital in Rochester, New York, including director of the Special Care Nursery. Her leadership and dedication were recognized in 2013 when she was named Physician of the Year at Highland Hospital.

Board-certified in Pediatrics and a long-standing member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Taylor is also certified in basic life support and the neonatal resuscitation program. Her clinical and academic work continues to focus on improving outcomes for newborns and supporting the next generation of pediatricians through education and mentorship.
