Cizik School of Nursing Pilot Research Grant (external link)
The Cizik Nursing Research Institute Biobehavioral Health Research Core is offering up to two pilot awards of $20,000 each to support the integration of epigenetic and DNA methylation analyses into ongoing research programs. The initiative is designed to generate high-quality preliminary data that can strengthen future NIH R01 submissions. The opportunity is open to all Cizik Nursing Research Institute members, with investigators from any UTHealth Houston school eligible to apply. Principal investigators must be positioned to submit an NIH R01 or equivalent grant following completion of the pilot work.

Faculty Community Service-Learning Grant (external link)
The Office of Professionalism presents the Faculty Community Service-Learning Grant that supports medical school faculty in designing innovative, specialty-aligned service-learning projects that intentionally integrate community partnership with medical education.
Unlike traditional volunteering, which often focuses on providing service to others, service-learning is a structured educational experience that combines meaningful community involvement with reflection and academic learning objectives. The goal is mutually beneficial. Trainees deepen their clinical and professional development while also addressing real-world health challenges alongside community partners.

AAP Community Advocacy Grant (external link)
The Community Pediatrics Training Initiative (CPTI) (external link) of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is interested in engaging AAP Chapters as state leaders to elevate the role of pediatrician engagement in community-level advocacy. This grant will fund up to five AAP US-based chapters with $10,000 to build awareness of the AAP Community Advocacy Roadmap (external link) with their members and establish an understanding of community-level advocacy as another avenue for advocacy in addition to current state and federal efforts. A project narrative and budget are due by March 20, 2026, at 11:59 PM CST.
