LoneStar LEND Disaster Readiness Expo: May 9
The LoneStar Leadership Education in Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) is hosting a free Disaster Readiness Expo to help families and caregivers living with autism and other neurodevelopmental disabilities prepare their loved ones for a natural disaster of any kind. The event will feature:
- Resource fair with autism and disaster-readiness experts
- Opportunity to interact with first responders and rescue vehicles and learn how to prepare an emergency kit
- Practice wearing lifejackets
- Quiet space to reset as needed

Vote on Heatstroke Prevention Social Media Contest by May 9
The Injury Free Coalition for Kids is hosting a contest to raise awareness and help prevent vehicular heatstroke. Postgraduate medical, nursing, and public health students; medical trainees at any level; and pediatric and ED nurses sent entries — including a team from UTHealth Houston! Please vote on your favorite campaign by May 9. (You may vote for more than one campaign. One vote per day.)
