
On Saturday, June 14, the Pediatric Residency Program had the honor of celebrating the graduation of our senior residents from the Categorical Pediatrics, Pediatric Genetics, Pediatric Neurology, and Internal Medicine-Pediatrics programs. During the ceremony, we also recognized outstanding faculty and trainees whose dedication to education, mentorship, professionalism, and compassionate care has made a positive impact on our program.

This year’s recipients are Jasmine Balbas, MD, and Alexandria Laws, MD.
Named in honor of Shirlene Edwards, retired longtime pediatric residency coordinator/avid gardener, this award recognizes a resident who embodies grace, kindness, compassion, and positive energy, much like the transformation and beauty represented by the butterfly.
This year’s recipient was Joud Ayoub, MD.
