The Division of Hematology had a productive time at the 2026 International Society for Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH (external link)) Congress held in Paris July 11-15.

Professor and Interim Division Chief Nidra Rodriguez, MD, had a teaching role at ISTH. Professor Lakshmi Srivaths, MD, gave a talk, moderated a session, and presented a poster with Assistant Professor Harish Eswaran, MD, and Professor Miguel Escobar, MD. In her role as a member of the Pediatric and Neonatal 2026 Planning Committee, Dr. Srivaths helped shape the final plan for pediatric sessions at the Congress. She has also been selected as the vice theme lead for the Pediatric Planning Committee for ISTH 2027.

Many division faculty and advanced practice providers contributed to an article published as ISTH Guidance and Guidelines, which was the basis of Dr. Srivaths’ talk: “The diagnosis and evaluation of women and girls with hemophilia and hemophilia carriers: guidance from the SSC of the ISTH (external link).” These experts hope will help improve the care of affected patients globally.
