Gain the knowledge and confidence to navigate the ethical challenges of clinical research

The Institute for Clinical Research and Learning Health Care provides this course that explores the core principles of research ethics—autonomy, beneficence, nonmaleficence, and justice—and their application to studies involving human participants. Topics include informed consent, the use of placebos and unproven therapies, institutional review board (IRB) review, conflicts of interest, and the ethical and financial considerations of clinical research. Through the examination of both established standards and contemporary controversies, participants will develop the practical skills needed to conduct ethical, responsible, and high-quality clinical research.
This course is particularly useful for young investigators.
