To assure an educational foundation in research, preparation for American Board of Subspecialty requirements and supplement the individualized learning accomplished through the research project, the following didactic and on-line courses are offered over the three-year fellowship program:

Teaching Conferences

Cardiology Divisional Conferences

This protected learning time takes place each weekday, 12pm to 1pm.

  • Monday: EP Conference and Combined Cardiology/Cardiothoracic Surgery Conference

  • Tuesday: Journal Club/Attending Lecture Series

  • Wednesday: Cath Conference

  • Thursday: Laser Tag Imaging Conference and Combined Cardiology/Cardiothoracic Surgery Conference

  • Friday: Board Review Lecture Series

 

Department of Pediatrics Conferences

Pediatric Grand Rounds

Held from 8-9AM every Tuesday morning. Grand Rounds are a series of lectures, which present the symptoms, diagnosis, and management of a particular disease in the pediatric population.

Pediatric Fellowship Core Curriculum

Second Tuesday of every month 12-1PM; A didactic session or workshop is provided for the fellows in all Pediatric Subspecialty Training Programs to provide an educational forum to address common ACGME program requirements.

 


Throughout the fellowship program, program faculty and visiting experts will give lectures covering important aspects of pediatric cardiology. Attendance will be required at Pediatric Cardiology Section rounds, combined pediatric cardiology/cardiac surgery meetings, cardiology/cardiac surgery morbidity and mortality conferences, and organized conferences related to pediatric cardiology. Second and third-year fellows will present seminars and discussions on selected pediatric cardiology topics and are encouraged to attend national conferences on pediatric cardiology.
