Clinical Services
The Division of Child Safety and Integrated Care provides inpatient consultations of suspected maltreatment victims and children at risk for maltreatment at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital (CMHH), a private hospital located in the Texas Medical Center, as well as Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital (LBJ), operated by Harris Health to care for a historically underserved population.
CMHH is a 138-bed pediatric hospital that includes a busy Level I trauma center and a 30-bed pediatric intensive care unit. Outpatient follow-up visits and ongoing medical and psychosocial services are provided at the CARE Clinic in the Texas Medical Center. The Division also provides expert supervision for the Harris Health Forensic Nurse Program.
The Division also provides Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), a highly specialized intervention not readily available in Greater Houston. TF-CBT is a 12 to 18-week intensive therapy option for those who have experienced one or more traumas and meet Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) requirements. This service is done with ages 3 to 18 (pending ability to effectively participate in therapy) and a legal guardian. Please reach out to our clinic for more information on how to refer.
