Participate in CONNECT Pediatrics

CONNECT Pediatrics can accommodate participation from 7 to 14 students each academic year, which allows for at least 1 to 2 medical students per targeted medical school. Applications are open September 1 to November 1, and there is no cost to participate. The program will launch January 5, 2027, and end January 31, 2028.

Each CONNECT Pediatrics participant will be matched with two mentors:

• one pediatric resident or fellow (or senior medical student with a demonstrated interest in pediatrics, when appropriate), and
• one Department of Pediatrics faculty mentor

Each year, there will be four scheduled virtual mentor meetings and four signature webinars. To receive credit, participants must complete all four mentor meetings and attend at least two of the four signature webinars. Additionally, each participant will be required to submit pre- and post-surveys about the program even after completion of the program.

Applicants will be notified of the selection decision by December 18, 2026.

What is the time commitment for participation in CONNECT Pediatrics?

Participants should anticipate approximately six hours of engagement over the course of the year-long program.
